UPDATE: Warner Bros. Unveil A Full Look At Anne Hathaway In Costume As Catwoman!

UPDATE: Warner Bros. Unveil A Full Look At Anne Hathaway In Costume As Catwoman!: "Just Jared have revealed the following official image of Anne Hathaway in costume as Catwoman, and with no sign of a cowl, could this really be the suit Catwoman (only ever referred to as 'Selina Kyle' by official sources) dons throughout The Dark Knight Rises? What prompted Warner Bros. to release this today is unknown, although it could be something to do with the mostly negative response to the first reveal yesterday! A big thank you to Twitter's @RIMBreaks for the heads up.

UPDATE: As many of you have noted in the comments section, Just Jared were fooled (as we were) by an extremely clever FAKE! For now, it looks like what we saw of Catwoman yesterday will be it for the time being.

STARRING:

Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Tom Blake
Marion Cotillard"

First Look at Anne Hathaway as 'Selina Kyle' in 'The Dark Knight Rises'

First Look at Anne Hathaway as 'Selina Kyle' in 'The Dark Knight Rises': "
Not to be outdone by yesterday's big reveal of Henry Caville as Superman in Zach Snyder's upcoming 'Man of Steel' movie for Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures, today we get our very first look at Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle in Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight Rises.'

Boy, does this picture answer a lot of questions. When the casting rumor that Hathaway would play Selina Kyle was first revealed, many people wondered whether or not she would not only portray Selina, but if the actress would also delve into her alter-ego of 'Catwoman.' Continue reading more to check out the full size picture.
This picture alone answers a lot of questions. It seems like Nolan's vision for Selina Kyle won't have cat ears, at least not initially, but she does get a pretty cool mask. And if the question of whether or not Selina and Batman would be teaming up in the film to fight crime was ever up for debate, I guess the fact that she's going to be riding around on a bat-cycle kind of confirms it. Unless of course, she's planning on breaking into the Batcave and stealing it. But I don't think she'll be that clever. What do you guys think of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle? Are you looking forward to 'The Dark Knight Rises'? Does this answer a lot of questions you may have about what role her character will play in the film?

A big thank you to a Schabbe for the tip!

Anne Hathaway WILL wear Catwoman costume in DARK KNIGHT RISES

Anne Hathaway WILL wear Catwoman costume in DARK KNIGHT RISES: "
Not the usual spot I would go to for comic book movie news, but the website HollywoodLife.com has an exclusive about the appearance of Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman costume in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Plus, a fan video has just surface showing perhaps the first shooting footage of the film with Hathaway and Christian Bale.

HollywoodLife spoke with an “insider” on the film’s costume design who had this to say about Hathaway’s Catwoman outfit, “Anne’s outfit is more tactical, like the comic book, than the previous Batman movies. She will definitely be wearing the goggles and it’s going to be less sexy than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman costumes. She’s going to look more like a robber.”

More like a robber, you say? Funny that, because she is a robber. I know not everyone is but I’m a fan of the current comic design of Catwoman’s costume done by Darwyn Cooke for his run with Ed Brubaker so I’m glad they are leaning more towards that. Brubaker is too it seems as he wrote on Twitter, So psyched to see reports that Ann Hathaway will be wearing a version of the Catwoman costume Darwyn Cooke designed for our run. I had a few ideas about the goggles and headgear, but Darwyn went off and created a Catwoman look that’s lasted ten years already. I don’t think I really thought our version would stick after I left the book. Certainly not all these years now.”

The insider also said, “Fan boys shouldn’t be worried. This costume is going to be form-fitting enough to make Anne look smoking hot.” The website was previously told, “Everything from the looks in her eyes, her head movements, her body–everything is so feline. The role is taking her to new places.”

Speaking of new places, a new location for Wayne Manor is being used in the film and Huffington Post has posted a very shakey, very fuzzy fan video taken on that particular set that features Hathaway and Bale having a conversation. It doesn’t reveal anything plot-wise of course but for those of us dying to see anything from the movie (*cough*me*cough*), it’s worth a watch.

The video itself comes via the YouTube account BatmanManor, and shows Selina and Bruce having a conversation in front of Wayne Manor before Selina takes his hand and they walk away. I’m crossing my fingers for a joke about how cats don’t like to get wet.

Rumor Patrol: Details of Catwoman’s ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Costume

Rumor Patrol: Details of Catwoman’s ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Costume: "
Catwoman's Costume in The Dark Knight Rises?

The Dark Knight Rises is probably the most highly-anticipated comic book film of next two years, thanks to the successes of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (courtesy of director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale).

Yesterday, the second sequel was filming in England, and our own Niall Browne snapped some set photos of the newly-rebuilt Wayne Manor. Today, we have new information regarding the design of Catwoman’s costume – that is, if it turns out to be true. As ever, take every Batman rumor with a grain of salt.
According a Hollywood Life source close to the costume design:
“Anne’s outfit is more tactical, like the comic book, than the previous Batman ...

Judd Winick's Catwoman Revamp: No Relationship with Batman

Judd Winick's Catwoman Revamp: No Relationship with Batman: "

Last week comic fans were surprised when they saw the reveal of DC's upcoming Batgirl ongoing series. While the lovely Adam Hughes cover depicting a fiery redhead reaching out to her audience is certainly a beautiful image; it's also a very controversial one amongst the readership. When the reveal that the redhead is none other than Barbara Gordon, the current Oracle, fans had no problem holding back all kinds of emotions about the future of many of their favorite characters.
With the revamp and introduction of 52 new DC titles scheduled for release this fall, it's not just Barbara Gordon who'll be undergoing some serious changes; another very popular DC heroine that will also be seeing a facelift (albeit not literally) is Catwoman; something writer Judd Winick made clear in a recent interview.
The best way I can describe it is that it's going to be a lot of dark fun. Again, it's pretty damn violent! I won't lie to you...But she's a very, very particular character, which we are allowed to go many places with...'She's someone who is very aware of her sexuality, and we're letting her stay aware of it! [Laughs] On top of that is the fact that's she's not actually a superhero, nor is she a bad guy. She's a thief. She steals things...She's addicted to danger. She's also quite brilliant...There's a little bit of [an] 'Ocean's 11' bent to this. She is not unlike a detective who has to do a bit of research, a bit of recon, she's got to find out where she's going and how and what tools she needs to have so she can get in and steal the thing she needs to steal.

I must confess, seeing Judd Winnick refer to Selina as 'quite brilliant' does make my heart aflutter- although it does bring up questions about what the changes that Winnick will instill for Selina Kyle will be. Ever since Jeph Loeb's run on Batman with HUSH, Catwoman has appeared as less and less of a threat to Batman and more of an ally. In fact, the pair teamed up in HUSH and went so far as to solidify their romantic commitment to one another (if you can call it that). Following Hush and Zatanna's mind wipe trick in Infinite Crisis, Catwoman has grown relatively docile. Later, Selina teamed up with Dick Grayson in Battle for the Cowl and more recently with Poison Ivy to babysit Harley Quinn in Gotham City Sirens.
Over the course of the last several years, Catwoman has done a lot less stealing and become less and less of an anti-hero- and I would almost blame her romantic feelings toward Batman or that. Why is it that she lost her sense of self? Did she have to lose herself in order to be in love with Bruce Wayne? Is it really in character for Catwoman to be in love with Batman? Lately, the Catwoman that fans have grown familiar with is nothing like the Catwoman Judd Winick will be writing come the fall.
...If you are a thief the dumbest thing you can do is be involved with Batman in any way shape or form, and there she is. I think Batman and Catwoman make for a very interesting pairing, let's say.
So basically, no Batman and Catwoman relationship; but what about all the sexual tension that made Batman/Catwoman stories such a joy to read? Sure, I don't think these two characters should be together because when they have been, Selina always manages to lose her identity and self awareness- but to ensure they aren't involved in 'any way shape or form' is a bit much, no?
If Judd Winick is taking Selina Kyle back to her roots as a self assured, self aware thief who is both well aware of her own sexuality and willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants- sign me up. That's a Catwoman book I have been waiting for. I'm more than happy to see Catwoman the anti-hero make her return to comics, what about you? What do you think of the new direction Winick will take Catwoman? Do you think removing her relationship from Batman is a good idea?

DC Announces New Batman Revamp Titles and Creators

DC Announces New Batman Revamp Titles and Creators: "

The DC revamp titles news continues. Today (courtesy of IGN), we're getting some exciting news. It's all about Batman. It's almost crazy if you think about it, we will all have a chance to own Batman #1 and Detective Comics #1. Detective Comics is what brought about DC's name. Will this re-numbering stick? Honestly, that's not really the point right now. Let's just focus on what we're going to be getting.
Batman #1 will be written by the great Scott Snyder (hot of the pages of Detective Comics) along with art by Greg Capullo (who is known for working on Spawn and Haunt).
Detective Comics #1 will have Tony Daniel doing both the writing and the art. Interesting that Daniel and Snyder are switching titles. Both Batman and Detective will feature Bruce Wayne as Batman. According to IGN, Bruce Wayne will be the only character wearing the Batman suit. That means, Batman Incorporated is finished?
Batman and Robin #1 will feature Bruce and Damian written by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason. Father and son fighting crime together. It should be really interesting to see how Damian works with his dad. He and Dick have started developing a good relationship and I wonder if Damian will follow orders better now.
Batman: The Dark Knight #1 will continue with David Finch. There's no assurance whether or not Finch's original story will see completion.
What else is there?
Those were the official announcements. Bleeding Cool has shown images for an unconfirmed (so far) Catwoman #1 (art by GUillem March) along with Nightwing #1 (art by Eddy Barrows). Guess we know why Bruce is the only one wearing the Batman suit.
Here's some more images:
