Neon Genesis Evangelion: Soryu Asuka Langley 05

First introduced in episode 8 with the arrival of the Eva Unit 02, Soryu Asuka Langley is shown maintaining a high synchronization ratio and exceptional skills as an Eva pilot. With the battle against the Angel Gaghiel, Asuka proved to be very aggressive and confident in battle. However, when she was first defeated in the fight against Zeruel, Asuka’s self-confidence begins to dwindle, affecting her effectiveness as a pilot.

Kipi makes such a cute Asuka that I had to feature her again. But I’m not sure if this breaks any of blogger’s rules in blogging, so please let me know otherwise so I can delete this just in case!

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Ayanami Rei 09

Although there are no specific information given about Rei’s origin or heritage, Akagi Ritsuko stated in Neon Genesis Evangelion that Rei was born in a certain room deep in the lower levels of Nerv headquarters. In addition, the Red Cross Book stated that Rei was created from the “salvaged remains” of Ikari Yui after she was absorbed into the Unit 01 in 2004. Ikari Gendo introduced Rei to the Nerv staff in 2010 as an “acquaintance’s child” whom he was temporarily taking care of, but Akagi Naoko noted that Rei physically resembled Yui.

Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance: Makinami Mari Illustrious 05

Makinami Mari Illustrious’ designation amongst the Children has yet to be revealed, though she is once referred as “Problem Child”. In the preview of the 3rd Rebuild movie, Mari is seen taking off her glasses while in confinement. She is also shown having a private conversation with an unknown character.

She’s a strange character if you ask me, but undoubtedly very cute. Besides, Sakamoto Maaya is her seiyuu, so how can you not love her? Thanks again to Daniel for sending this in!

Asuka’s defensiveness quickly repels her new stepmother, but the two eventually learn to tolerate one another while maintaining a cheerful facade of a normal family. Asuka proves to be a child prodigy, earning her university degree while still in her teens and becoming fluent in spoken Japanese.

Now that’s what I call authentic! And the detailing of the plug suit is wonderfully made. Thanks to Trina for sharing this!

It was then that the Tenth Angel attacked, forcing Mari to hijack Unit-02 in an attempt to beat the Angel. However, even after she initiated the berserker mode, she was no match for it. Ayanami Rei then piloted Unit-00, but even with both of them working together, the Angel still remained unscathed.

Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance: Makinami Mari Illustrious 03

The beginning of the movie immediately reveals Makinami Mari Illustrious to be a pilot of the Provisional Evangelion Unit-05. She was sent to destroy the resuscitated skeleton of the Third Angel in its attack on NERV’s arctic Bethany Base. Mari was able to successfully defeat the Angel by self-destructing her unit,and ejecting at the last minute to avoid her own death.
