An IGN report last month revealed the allegedly awful working conditions at Team Bondi during the lengthy development of L.A. Noire. Studio founder Brendan McNamara was said to be an incredibly angry individual and there were allegations of excessively long work hours that went unpaid, employees being berated, and more. McNamara didn't outright deny some of these things, instead simply putting a different spin on it than that of the anonymous former employees.
Two more former employees have now come forward and offered up further evidence of the allegations, primarily in the form of internal e-mails. Speaking with the author of the original piece for a GamesIndustry.biz report, they also highlight the contentious relationship that Bondi grew to have with Rockstar and how the two are unlikely to work together again.
'It's pretty well reported now that the working conditions were bad. What hasn't been discussed yet (from what I've seen) is the relationship between Team Bondi and Rockstar,' one source wrote. 'I've heard a lot about Rockstar's disdain for Team Bondi, and it has been made quite clear that they will not publish Team Bondi's next game. Team Bondi are trying to find another publisher for their next title, but the relationship with Rockstar has been badly damaged -- Brendan treats L.A. Noire like a success due to his vision but I think Rockstar are the ones who saved the project. They continued to sink money into LA Noire, and their marketing was fantastic. Without their continued support, Team Bondi would have gone under several years ago.'
