It's hard to believe that only a week ago Marvel fans picked up issue #4 of Fear Itself and already they are getting a peek at what to expect from the fifth issue which is set to hit stores on August 8th, 2011. If you still haven't read the issue (I don't know why you wouldn't have) and don't want it spoiled for you, then I suggest you stop reading.
Last issue we saw a very exhausted (and slightly drunk) Iron Man come face to face with Odin. One look at the preview and you may notice the continuation of that very scene below. Now, the really cool thing about artist Stuart Immonen is he's so good that you can practically guess what is being said in that panel based on the expression on Tony Stark's face. You have to wonder, is Tony going to be given some special Asgardian powers? Will he be forging his own Asgardian weapon and will he have to use it? And will Tony be the only one forging these weapons, or does this have something to do with the teaser of The Mighty that Marvel revealed last week?
We will also be seeing Steve Rogers face off against Sin in the next issue, and we can only hope that he will successfully avenge Bucky's knock out. Also, Thor vs. Thing and Hulk at the same time? That's the kind of stuff you would only dream of seeing in a battle thread on Comic Vine. What do you think of Fear Itself and are you looking forward to the fifth issue?

Who is HAPPY HOGAN?
Happy whose real name is Harold Hogan, is a Marvel Comics supporting character mostly appearing in Iron Man books. He first appeared in Tales of Suspense #45 (September 1963). Stan Lee and Don Heck created the character.
First Appearance
HAPPY HOGAN became a chauffeur and personal assistant of Tony Stark when he saved his life in a car accident.
Happy was a former boxer with a history of losing his fights, it was his sad-faced demeanor in the ring that earned Harold the nickname of 'Happy' Hogan. His most notable opponent was Battlin' Jack Murdock, who is the father of Matt Murdock, Daredevil. Happy retired saying he was getting 'too good at losing'; in fact, his nice guy attitude often cost him when it came to trying to knock out an opponent.

Happy is not one of the smartest people but he is definitely a very loyal friend.
In one story, a desperately ill Happy is mutated into a giant, savage, nearly mindless, superhumanly strong humanoid known as Freak when doctors tried to cure him using a cobalt ray machine powered by Stark's experimental 'Enervator' device. Freak breaks loose and goes on a rampage, escaping before Iron Man can arrive to stop him. However, it will still be Tony Stark who will later restore him to his normal self.
There were a couple of occasions that we see Happy donning an Iron Man suit, Tony allowed him to wear his Protoclassic Armor.
HAPPY HOGAN would later marry Pepper Potts but would later divorce and then remarry again.
During Marvel's 'Civil War' Tony Stark was in a considerable moral, political and emotional problems, HAPPY HOGAN continues to give Tony much needed advice. In an important moment of crisis, he says to Tony: 'You, my friend, are the only cape in the bunch that's both one of us and one of them. Who else can see both sides the way you do?' On the night of his anniversary with Pepper, the Spymaster attacks Hogan. Spymaster threatens to kill Hogan first, and then Pepper. Angered, Hogan grabs him by the neck and they fall several stories, leaving Hogan in a vegetative coma. While he is in the coma, Pepper speaks to Tony during dinner. Tells him a tale about a former boxing friend of Happy who took too many hits on the head and unable to even feed himself and must be taken care of. Pepper tells Tony that HAPPY HOGAN does not want that.

HAPPY HOGAN appears in the series Iron Man: Armored Adventures and was voiced by Alistair Abell. Happy is a tall jock who is a classmate of Tony Stark. He is a fan of Iron Man and thinks he is a cyborg.

In Iron Man and Iron Man 2 HAPPY HOGAN is played by actor Jon Favreau who is also the director of both movies. Like in the comics, Hogan is Tony's chauffer, and showed his skill in boxing.

Comic Book History
Who is WHIPLASH?
Several Marvel characters have gone with the name WHIPLASH, the very first one was Mark Scarlotti. He was a recurring foe of Iron Man who debuted in Tales of Suspense #97 (Jan. 1968). Scarlotti was an extremely gifted technician at Stark International, but he never received recognition for his hard work or scientific acumen. Jealous of the of Tony Stark's brilliance and fame, Scarlotti decided to become a costumed supervillain. Adopting the moniker WHIPLASH, he constructed a metallic, electrified whip capable of rending apart even the strongest of metals. As WHIPLASH, Scarlotti worked for the Maggia before becoming an underworld enforcer for shady industrialist Justin Hammer.
First Appearance
Later Scarlotti would change his moniker to Blacklash. After previous defeats at the hands of Iron Man, Scarlotti upgraded his weaponry and paraphernalia. He returned with a goal to establish himself as a premier contract killer.
Scarlotti would then go back to using his old alias, WHIPLASH but tried on a different costume and once again upgraded his weapons and equipments. Mark Scarlotti acquired a more brutal attitude.
Mark Scarlotti, WHIPLASH, would meet his end at the hands of a sentient Iron Man Armor.
The current holder of the name WHIPLASH is Anton Vanko, a young scientist from a small Russian village by the name of Volstok. (This version of the character was inspired by the movie version WHIPLASH from Iron Man 2. He was created a short time before the movie was released. He share name with another Iron Man Villain, Crimson Dynamo, but apparently they are not related)
Vanko whose village was attacked by an impostor in an Iron Man suit, who killed many of his townsfolk including his father, swore vengeance against Iron Man. The young Vanko was able to separate the armored assailant from his powered chest plate, upon getting his hand in this technology; it was easy for the brilliant man to reverse engineer the tech and came up with his own armor. Thinking that it was Tony Stark, who was under the Iron Man suit, he seeks him out and engaged him in battle.
Even with Tony Stark clearing his name from the small town massacre, Vanko still held Mr. Stark accountable for the tragedy because it was his tech that has been used. Thus, Iron Man gained a new Villain with an old name, WHIPLASH.

Mickey Rourke portrays WHIPLASH in Iron Man 2; this version of the character is an amalgamation of Iron Man villains WHIPLASH and the Crimson Dynamo. WHIPLASH is the main antagonist of the film; he is a disgruntled Russian physicist with a grudge against the Stark family. Constructing an arc reactor-powered suit of his own, WHIPLASH attacks Tony Stark with his trusted electrified whips.

While rarely utilized, Vanko is shown to be a capable hand-to-hand combatant, easily able to kill two well trained thugs with little damage to himself. He also is deceptively intelligent, his accent and thuggish appearance belaying a highly skilled mechanical and programming knowledge and cunning to outwit those around him.
Strength level
Ivan Vanko has the normal strength of a man his age, height and builds who engages in regular intensive exercise. When wearing the WHIPLASH armor his strength is considerably magnified to an unknown degree. He has been shown simultaneously restraining both the Iron Man MK VI armor and the War Machine armor at once.
Equipment
WHIPLASH Harness: Vanko's first WHIPLASH construct was an exoskeleton worn on the upper body that connected an arc reactor to a weapon system of hand-held two plasma whips. It was never revealed if the harness had any other intended uses beyond supporting the whips, but it was able to generate heat from the main harness enough to burn through a boiler suit worn over the top. The whips themselves produced enough heat to knife through the reinforced body of a luxury car with ease.
WHIPLASH Armor: Vanko's second WHIPLASH construct was a sophisticated fusion of Hammer technology armor with a miniature arc reactor adapted from Howard Stark's and Anton Vanko's earlier designs. Modeled with many of Tony Stark's Iron Man capabilities in mind, the WHIPLASH armor granted the wearer a wide array of enhancements. These included vastly magnified strength, a high degree of resistance to damage, and high-speed flight capability. The power output of the suit's on board arc reactor could be channeled into powering two arm-mounted plasma whips that could be controlled to have a level of prehensile grasping capability enough to firmly wrap around a person's neck.

Who is JUSTIN HAMMER?
JUSTIN HAMMER is a villain in Marvel Comics; he is a frequent adversary of the superhero Iron Man. His first appearance was in Iron Man (1st series) #120 (March 1979). Hammer is the reason why many of Iron Man's supervillain enemies have access to extremely advanced technology, and why these foes use their equipment for violent crimes instead of profiting by bringing the designs to market. Hammer reveals that the villains are his underworld mercenaries, secretly armed and contractually obligated to fulfill missions against Hammer's competitors and enemies.
First Appearance
JUSTIN HAMMER rivals Tony Stark (Iron Man) as an industrialist and a multi-billionaire businessman, but he use his resources for more nefarious deeds like financing crimes and other unethical methods. In return, he gets fifty percent of the criminals' profits. He often would pay bail for costumed criminals and finance the development and replacement of both their weaponry and equipment.
JUSTIN HAMMER's financed criminals
JUSTIN HAMMER would lock horns with Tony Stark and, his alter ego, Iron Man several times. Hammer would seek out different means to gain advantage against his technologically adept rival. Once he invented a device called the hypersonic scan transmitter, which allowed him to take control of Iron Man's armor.
During the 'Armor Wars' storyline, JUSTIN HAMMER was behind the stolen Iron Man technology, which was sold to a number of tech-based supervillains.

He also created the Firepower robot to eliminate his competition.

Who is JUSTIN HAMMER?
JUSTIN HAMMER is a villain in Marvel Comics; he is a frequent adversary of the superhero Iron Man. His first appearance was in Iron Man (1st series) #120 (March 1979). Hammer is the reason why many of Iron Man's supervillain enemies have access to extremely advanced technology, and why these foes use their equipment for violent crimes instead of profiting by bringing the designs to market. Hammer reveals that the villains are his underworld mercenaries, secretly armed and contractually obligated to fulfill missions against Hammer's competitors and enemies.
JUSTIN HAMMER rivals Tony Stark (Iron Man) as an industrialist and a multi-billionaire businessman, but he use his resources for more nefarious deeds like financing crimes and other unethical methods. In return, he gets fifty percent of the criminals' profits. He often would pay bail for costumed criminals and finance the development and replacement of both their weaponry and equipment.

JUSTIN HAMMER would lock horns with Tony Stark and, his alter ego, Iron Man several times. Hammer would seek out different means to gain advantage against his technologically adept rival. Once he invented a device called the hypersonic scan transmitter, which allowed him to take control of Iron Man's armor.
During the 'Armor Wars' storyline, JUSTIN HAMMER was behind the stolen Iron Man technology, which was sold to a number of tech-based supervillains.

With San Diego Comic-Con just over a month away, Sideshow Collectibles has been gearing up with a short list of exclusive pre-orders for attendees and non-attendees alike. The other day, they unveiled their latest addition to the list, Hot Toys’ Iron Man Mark IV “Secret Project” collectible figure. This 1:6th scale figure stands at 12 inches tall and comes with all the bells and whistles we’ve come to expect from Hot Toys — battery powered LED lights, interchangeable parts, articulated joints and armor flaps, you name it. If you’re attending and want to get your hands on one, you’ll need to sign up for the Sideshow Collectibles newsletter, then pre-order on June 16th between the hours of 10 AM to 12 PM PST. If you’re not attending Comic-Con but still want one, you’ll have to wait until the 17th.
