Cosplay Group Progress & Drama (Days 221 - 224)

Now I remember why I don't have many close friends; I'm not willing to put up with drama. At all. Maybe I'm just lazy when it comes to it, but when people start causing problems for me, I just cut them out of my life. But now I'm stuck with it. Nothing major, just "high-school" drama.. Out of high school xP BLEH!

Anyway, fabric, hot glue sticks, and a shirt were bought for Blinky, but nothing was done on it because I got sick, and am too lazy to do much since I've been feeling better.

Cosplay Group & PROGRESS! (Days 219 & 220)

Unfortunately, I have no pictures of our progress, but they'd be pretty ugly anyway, since things are still in the "Skeleton" stage. Soo, four out of five of us got together today. We finished the cardboard parts of two ghosts, Pinky and Inky, and painted another leg of my boyfriend's (Pac-Man) pants. A trip to the fabric store produced another bottle of white Puff paint (because we ran out, surprisingly) and more white iron-on letters, because of course I didn't have enough for Inky, Pinky, and Blinky. How dare they give me only one K. Pfft.

Anyway~! I'm very, very pleased with all of the progress. Next time (whenever that may be) we will cover Pinky, cut out some mini ghosties for shirts, and maybe take another trip to the fabric store and/or mall. =]

A few of us are a little concerned, though. I'll use code names here. I first invited Friend A to the group, and she's cosplay buddies with Friend B, so of course I invited her too. Then, in need of one more, I invited Friend C. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until today that Friend B and Friend C have possibly severely conflicting personalities. Friend C and my boyfriend agree. I haven't discussed this with Friends B or C, but I think I may warn friend C, because I honestly don't think he'll be the problem, I just think that Friend B won't like him. Le sigh. Also, even though I invited Friend b into the group first, I get along better with Friend C, and he's much more reliable, and he's already started on his costume, while Friend B has not, unless she's working on her own, which I doubt. =/

Buuuut, all of my worrying could be nothing and they could get along great xP I already butt heads with Friend B though >_>

Group Time! (Day 106)

Shortened the day numbers into actual numbers. Meh. It's ugly, but oh well.

The group came over today, and we actually worked on things =D Even though we're not all cosplaying from the same thing. I finished one of Amaterasu's "wings" but that was it. It took longer than I expected.

Nothing really happened today, Re-scheduled when our group's gonna meet, hope it works out this time. My boyfriend attempted to drive me to the wig store. "Attempted" being the key word. Somehow, we got lost. So we'll be going Wednesday =D I hope D=

Days Ninety-Nine and One-Hundred =O

Yay! Hundredth day! *happy dance* And at a decent time! *happier dance*

I am pleased to say that I actually feel like I have a solid cosplay group now =D Some of us plan to get together tomorrow to work on things, even though we're not doing a group cosplay. I wish my boyfriend could make it, but he has to spend time with his family.. *sigh* I figured as much, but it's still disappointing.

In other news, I'm surprised at the amount of people I know going to Animation On Display =O Any thoughts of me skipping it to save money for Fanime are gone now, heh. And I've decided to enter the cosplay contest at AOD. Unless there's a fursuiter entering. I have way too much respect for them, and they'd crush my chances of winning anyway. I'd like to do an actual performance, take some form of martial arts, make them more fluid like dance moves, and put them to music. However, I can't choose a martial arts or music style, and AOD is approaching quickly. Walk-ons are boring though and I like to entertain =D So we shall see.

Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony (Day Seventy-Six)

My migraine went away! *cries of yay!* I went to a Christmas tree lighting ceremony with my boyfriend and his family. It was rather short, but still very nice. =]

As for cosplay, I got nada. Except getting a couple more people to join my cosplay group and us all agreeing on a group cosplay. Hell yeah =D I'm more excited about that than I should be D= But I get to make giant fuzzy feet again! =D

It's pretty much my dream group cosplay, we need at least two more people, but we may actually need five, depending on how things go with a couple of people.

My designs for it aren't even finished yet, I feel like it needs more FUR! I really want this to be a combination of a fur suit and a traditional school uniform. I need to sketch out male versions as well, since the group was originally intended to be all female. Then it dawned on me that I don't get along with many girls very well. So now I'm just hoping we can get an even-ish amount of girls and guys.

I think I have an unhealthy obsession with fursuits. I mean, yes, sewing is easy and rewarding, but it's nowhere near as rewarding as completing a costume part with fur and hot glue. And I'm always cold and fur is always warm, so that's a real nice plus.

I'm really looking forward to teaching people how to make the giant fuzzy feet. They're my favorite part for sure. Plus, we get to go on giant group shopping trips =O I fully intend to freak the crap out of JoAnn's employees. "Yes, all eight of us need at least one yard of fur and a shitload of foam. Oh, no, this isn't for a school play, this is what we do in our spare time."
