On July 19th, the 1990 film version of Captain America is getting released on DVD by MGM’s Manufacturing On Demand process. this film has never had an official U.S. release, so a lot of fans are looking forward to it. However, I do take issue that they’re not mentioning the 1990 fact anywhere in the announcements. I understand they want to take advantage of the Captain America: The First Avenger movie coming on July 22 but I know there will be a few people who pick this up not know what they’re holding.
I think I’m one of the few that likes this movie. Back in 1990 it was awesome to see a live action superhero film that was DC (hard to believe). Cap wasn’t perfect, but it was Cap. Plus, the film had a decent cast and the makeup for Cap and Skull was pretty cool looking.
