Hollywood summer blockbusters are always filled with high-adrenaline and energetic 3D animation graphics. But this movie trumps these stereotypes with a nice blend of imaginative storytelling and impeccable direction. This is Steven Spielberg and JJ Abrams’ Super 8.
Super 8 tells us the story of a mysterious train crash in Ohio which was incidentally captured by a Super-8 camera of kids shooting a makeshift video. The mystery of the movie goes up a notch when people starts disappearing in the town — with insinuations that the cause of the disturbance just might be extraterrestrial by nature.
The film was properly directed with riveting scenes leading to a build-up of anxiety and anticipation for that mysterious being that was shot. This was a narrative of finding one’s way in a labyrinth of mess. But when your opponent is out of this world, can you hang on to dear life?
