Kagome arises into a peculiar wasteland, at the beginning ignorant that she has crossed back through time to the Sengoku period of Japan, fifty years after Kikyo's death. Other than the Bone Eater's Well itself, the only common boundary marker is Goshinboku. She comes upon Inuyasha yet secured onto the tree in a captivated sleep, and a group of unfriendly bumpkins, which haul her back to their village.
