Jennifer Lawrence went from being a little-known actress and star of a depressing-as-the-dickens indie film, Winter’s Bone, to starring in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class as the blue-hued Mystique and also the much-anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games as Katniss Everdeen.
Recently, Lawrence talked to Latino Review about her roles in both X-Men and The Hunger Games, the latter of which has caused a bit of a backlash, due to the intended age and ethnicity of the protagonist. Which is to say, not ‘twenty-years-old’ and not exactly ‘white’ – the age and ethnicity of Jennifer Lawrence.
