Cosplay ideas pt. 1

I've wanted to do this for over a year now, ever since P. and I bought Neverending Story II a while back.

I'd love to go as a group, all dressed like the people you see in the background from 7:20 onwards. Only cooler.
In a lot of ways, this is a very easy cosplay. You don't really see very much of them (they're in the background, and constantly moving) and there is a lot of variation between them, which means that there is a lot of room for improvisation and creativitiy.
They also look quite simple to make. Everything is very loose and draped, and in lots of layers.

Cool fact: my mother has already sorta said 'yes' to this one. As ins: she'll be in the group, all dressed up.
I'm not sure if my boyfriend would like it though.

A lot of people would consider it weird that I want to cosplay the faceless people in the background, but it's really not.
I cosplay, I have LARPed (would like to do more, but don't have the time) and have been in a re-enactment show. That's three hobbies right there, including my most important hobby of all. And they all come down to 'being someone else'.
On top of that, I have a fascination for masks, and I sort of collect them. They can hide so much, and only show what you want the outside world to see. The bits you don't want to be seen are replaced by beautiful decorations. But they always reveal your eyes, and the eyes are windows to the soul. A mask never succeeds in hiding everything.

However, these outfits really remind me of burkas. They're very loose and don't show a centimeter of skin...

So, still doubting.
