Lacus Clyne (Rakusu Kurain) is a fictional character in the anime series Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. He is a popular female vocalist and the leader of the Clyne Faction. He also is captain of the ship Eternal, along with Andrew Waltfeld. Lacus also selected as the most popular female characters as much as four times in Animage Anime Grand Prix, in 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006. His name, "Lacus" means "lake" in Latin. In Gundam SEED, Lacus has the title "Pink Princess" and "The Songstress". In Gundam SEED Destiny, she is also known as "White Queen" by Gilbert Durandal, when he played chess with himself.
