Logitech introduces its new G300 gaming mouse.

Logitech has introduced its new G300 mouse, coming to the US and Europe next month. The biggest selling point seems to be that the mouse is ambidextrous, meaning that as the buttons are laid out symmetrically, you can use it with either your right or your left hand. You can also store up to three profiles on the mouse itself (no software needed), and you can even configure the lighting colors to match up to a certain profile, telling you how it's set with just a look.

There's also a 2500 DPI sensor on the bottom, so your Minecraft blocks will always end up exactly where you place them. The G300 is set to retail for $39.99.

Robocop avatar items are part Avatar, part machine, all cop

Robocop avatar items are part Avatar, part machine, all cop:

We're always vaguely shocked when something genuinely awesome happens on the Avatar Marketplace, since the very idea of paying for promotional items for the little you on your Dashboard seems to negate awesomeness.

But there it is. Robocop avatar items, promoting nothing, apropos of nothing and available, as far as we can tell, just in case people want Robocop suits, OCP t-shirts, or little ED-209 pets. Something about the randomness of it -- "hey, here's Avatar stuff from that one movie from 1987!" -- is appealing.

Something else appealing about this: the trailer above was actually a contest-winning fan creation, by Giant Bomb user MoleyUK. The gear will be out August 25.

Artist Matt Busch gives a behind-the-scenes look at the illustrated Indiana Jones World Map

Artist Matt Busch gives a behind-the-scenes look at the illustrated Indiana Jones World Map, showing all of the locations that Indy has made archeological discoveries- not just the movies- but the novels, the comic books, the Young Indy TV shows, the video games, and more.

Years in the making, there are 36 different archeological artifacts displayed with legend sections listing info on the items. The Key chart lets you decipher symbols for each artifact to see how the story was presented, be it film, novel, TV Episode, etc... Here, Busch shares some insight into the extensive research and detail he put into illustrating this monumental image.

Authorized through Lucasfilm, the print is funded by the Adirondack Comicfest and all proceeds from the sale of this print go to American Disabled Veterans. The print measures a whopping 24" X 36" (fit for a world map!) and easy to frame in any standard movie poster size frame. All prints are signed and numbered (limited edition of 255) by Matt Busch.

Francis Manapul & Brian Buccellato Talk 'New 52' Flash + Exclusive Art

Francis Manapul & Brian Buccellato Talk 'New 52' Flash + Exclusive Art:

September is getting closer. We've now seen the solicitations for the first three issues of DC's "The New 52." We're starting to get an idea of what changes or tweaks we can expect. We recently saw the return of Barry Allen after twenty-three years of being dead. After making his return, what happens to everything that was established?
We asked Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato, the creative team behind The Flash relaunch, a few questions to see what further information we could pry from them and also got an exclusive preview at a page from The Flash #2.
Comic Vine: Is it safe to assume this is the same Flash we've been recently seeing?
Francis Manapul: Yup. We will continue to tell stories with Barry Allen along with the supporting cast that Geoff had set up in our prior run.
Brian Buccellato: Yeah, but from a slightly different (and personal) perspective.
CV: Now that you and Brian are writing the book, do you feel more pressure or will you be like kids in a candy store, able to do whatever you want?
FM: A bit of both. Brian and I are extremely elated to be handling the writing and the art duties on the book. But at the same time, absolutely we feel the pressure. On top of getting the keys to the candy story, there's an added pressure of 51 other candy stores opening up on the same block. Ours has to be extra sweet to bring all the kids to our yard. That said, we're having a blast building and expanding on the world around Barry. We have some big plans for both Central, Keystone, and the badlands of these mid west cities. Not to mention this great opportunity we have to push ourselves with regards to our visual storytelling. I really feel like my last decade in the industry has been leading up to this.
BB: I agree. Timing is everything, and I feel like Francis and I are at the top of our "creative games" and (with the support of awesome editorial persons, Eddie Berganza, Brian Cunningham, and Darren Shan) in the perfect position to succeed here.
Exclusive First Look at The Flash #2
Exclusive First Look at The Flash #2
CV: Issue one (according to the solicit) features a new villain. Will we be seeing more new villains or will the Rogues be popping up.
FM: Our first arc will focus mainly on a mysterious group called Mob Rule, and what they want with Barry's dear old friend. Brian and I do have plans for the Rogues, but we want to introduce them slowly. Especially since they've disbanded.
BB: Yeah, like Francis put it to me when we were brainstorming... the Rogues are going to have a "Get The Band Back Together" moment as they take one final (and momentous) shot at The Flash—this time it’s personal. And Mob Rule is not just some throw away villain, either. Even after the first arc is over, it won't be the last time you see Mob Rule.

CV: Wally West and his kids were hardly in the last series. What's Wally been up to?
FM: Our main focus on this new book is Barry Allen. I LOVE Wally. He's the Flash I grew up with and know. However our directive is to solidify Barry Allen as the fastest man alive.
BB: We know this isn't what die-hard Wally fans want to hear right now, but we hope that people dig THE FLASH enough to give us a shot at winning them over with Barry. We are trying our hardest to tell compelling stories with whomever we have the honor of writing about.
CV: Does Barry always think at super-speed or does he have to activate the Speed Force?
FM: This is something we'll be dealing with in our first arc. We know he physically taps into the Speed Force, but we haven't quite seen the extent of what he could do if his mind tapped into it as well. This is a pretty major theme we plan to tackle, which has lent it self extremely well to visual experimentation.
CV: Is it difficult to write a character that could essentially be unstoppable? (He could just run up behind the villains and smack them on the back of the head).
FM: It's absolutely difficult to find ways to stop the Flash. His speed and skill set are just really hard to beat and near impossible. However, forcing ourselves to think of how he could lose is so much fun!
BB: When you think about all that The Flash can do... coming up with ways to challenge him can be a little bit daunting. But I'm REALLY proud of the stuff that we have cooked up. Hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised at some of the things we have in store for the Scarlet Speedster. We can't go into detail -- but I will say that issue #3 opens with a pretty crazy action sequence that people haven't seen before.
CV: What are the plans for the Cosmic Treadmill?
BB: Sadly, no spoilers are allowed, so we can't go into detail.
Be sure to check out our video interview from San Diego Comic-Con with Francis and Brian. The Flash #1 is on sale September 28. Be sure to look for a special surprise cameo!

The Avengers: Description of New Footage From D23

The Avengers: Description of New Footage From D23:
Description of The Avengers footage presented at D23

Disney held their third annual D23 event this weekend for the fans, showcasing everything that’s coming up on all of Disney’s fronts, from television and radio, to films and video games. And since The Avengers didn’t make an appearance at Comic-Con this year, as expected, Disney and Marvel brought members from the cast along with sizzle real of footage to D23 instead.

Unlike Comic-Con, Disney was very protective in ensuring their presentations were exclusive to D23 attendees and they would not let cameras, cell phones, laptops or any other such tech/recording equipment into the rooms but we can still certainly describe what was shown for The Avengers.

Before the cast came on stage, The Avengerssegment of the presentation was introduced with a video that recapped the series of movies before it, emphasizing the story and characters we’ve met so far and what it’s all been leading up to. It included bits of all the films to date (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger) as well as all the “button” post-credit scenes of the films (teaser trailers/easter eggs). This footage ended with the scene of Nick Fury saying to Stark at the end of Iron Man: “I’m here to talk about the Avengers initiative.” This was quite an intro and the audience nearly lost it.
Marvel President of Production, Kevin Feige, then came on stage, explaining that directorJoss Whedon is working away on the final two weeks of The Avengers shoot, but that he’s prepared a little something special for the D23 attendees. On comes the new footage the eager audience was waiting for.
The Avengers Cast (Robert Downey, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston) at D23
The Avengers Cast on stage at D23
Here’s what was shown:
  • Loki (Tom Hiddleston) is trapped in a high tech, glass prison room.

  • Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) enters, and uses the panel to communicate to him: “In case it’s unclear, if you try to escape – you even scratch the glass – it’s 30,000 feet straight down.”

  • Floor opens, revealing that this is taking place on the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier.

  • Loki says the room is “an impressive cage,” mocking that it’s not good enough to hold him.

  • Fury quips that the “cage” was built for something much stronger than Loki.

  • Loki: “…a mindless beast makes play he’s still a man,” referring to the Hulk.

  • Fury accuses Loki of bringing the world to the brink of war: ”You threaten my world with war. Steal a force you can’t control. You have made me desperate.”

  • Loki points out that Fury nearly had true power, having the Tesseract (the Cosmic Cube from Captain America and in post-credits of Thor), and talks of what SHIELD’s plans are for it, mocking their purpose with using it as a “warm glow for all of mankind.” Loki taunts Fury about being so close to “real power” and says he’ll show him what “real power” is.

  • Fury responds in classic Sam L fashion: “Let me know if real power wants a magazine.”

  • The Avengers team is in a briefing room, sitting at the table from Captain Americapost-credits Avengers button with Thor standing in middle of the room – they’re watching Loki on the monitor.

  • Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo): “He really grows on you doesn’t he?”

  • Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) is also shown watching the happenings through a monitor of her own.

  • Next scene shows Nick Fury explaining S.H.I.E.L.D.’s plan to bring together these heroes to handle the issues too big for the agency.

  • Scenes are shown of SHIELD agents around the Helicarrier and we get a few action scenes of our favorite heroes.

  • Next scene shows Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) behind a bar, introducing the team: “Let’s do a head count.”
    • Stark lists through The Avengers roster and as he names them, scenes are shown for each character (the Quinjet is also shown flying towards a city).

    • “We’ve got two deadly assassins” – Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) are shown on a bridge next to some destruction – Hawkeye shown aiming with his bow.

    • “A demi god” – Thor is shown with angry face, followed by slow motion action scene of him jumping, swinging is mighty Mjolnir hammer at Captain America’s shield.

    • “A legend that actually lives up to the legend” – Captain America (Chris Evans) dodging explosions – Also has a scene standing in front of a closet containing his new modern day costume.

  • Stark follows up by saying “and somehow, you managed to piss them all off.”

  • Loki is revealed to be the one talking to Stark and he retorts: “I have an army.”

  • Stark: “We have a Hulk.”

  • The final scene is showing Banner’s leg transforming into Hulk, followed by a close-up of his face while screaming Hulk-style.

  • The Avengers logo.

Needless to say, this was very exciting – and intense – footage but it will not be available online for a very long time. It was a pure tease and not revealing of any additional plot details or villains – we actually have learned more from the recent set videos and photos. There sadly was also no news about what comes next on Marvel’s film slate (i.e. Guardians of the Galaxy or Runaways) so we’ll wait until next July for Comic-Con 2012 and hope Marvel holds a panel there.
Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston were then introduced to the stage (above, click to enlarge) with Feige as Downey, being the spokesman and poster boy of sorts for the franchise, took the mic and got the audience excited by asking them if they wanted to watch the footage again… and soThe Avengers reel was shown again to everyone’s pleasure.
The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgard. It is of course written and directed by Joss Whedon, opening in theaters on May 4, 2012.
